Portlanders are encouraged to vote tomorrow, June 9th in the charter commission race.  The polls are open from 7:00 am until 8:00 p.m.   Hill residents still vote at the East End Community School on North Street.  For more,  please call 874-8677 or check online at www.portlandmaine.gov .

Portland voters will be asked to elect nine members to the twelve-person Charter Commission for the City.  Voters will vote for one of five district representatives and four at-large members.

Last November, the city voted to approve the creation of a Charter Commission.  Earlier this year, the City Council appointed three members to the Commission; Pamela Plumb, Naomi Merman and Thomas Valleau.  The Charter Commission is charged with engaging the public for a review of the City Charter.
